For Calculation, we have to follow MKS System (MKS: Meter Kilogram Second) or CGS System (CGS: Centimeter Gram Second). 

How to Use the Basic Consumption on Knit Items Calculator?

B. Seam Allowance + Sewing Allowances:

  • Consumption per Dozen, CPD= L×W× GSM × 12 /1,00,00,000  kg

                                                          =L×W× GSM × 12 /100 × 100 × 1,000 

                                                           =L × (1⁄2 Chest × 2) xGSM x12/1,00,00,000 kg

CPD (Consumption Per Dozen) for Body

  • Length = 72 cm (HPSL) + 5 cm [ In Bottom Hem Sewing Allowance = 3 cm ( Seam Allowance = 2 cm + Sewing Allowance = 1 cm ) + In Neck (Rib) Sewing Allowance = 2 cm] = 77 cm
  • Width = 100 cm (Chest) +  6 cm [In Side Seam Sewing Allowance = 3 cm (1.5 cm + 1.5 cm) × 2]= 106 cm or [50 cm (1⁄2 Chest) + 3 cm {In Side Seam Sewing Allowance (1.5 cm + 1.5 cm)}] × 2 = 106 cm 

CPD = L×W× GSM x 12 /1,00,00,000 kg 

         = 77 x 106 x 170 x 12 /1,00,00,000 kg

         = 1.67 kg (Body)
