Comber Machine Calculation Math

1) Find out the production / day / comber in tons from the following parameters-     

Nips / min = 420, 
Feed / nip = 6.5 mm = 6.5 / 25.4inch = 6.5 / 25.4 × 36 yds
Feed lap weight = 1150 grains / td = 1150 / 7000 lb / yd
Time = 24 hrs = (24 × 60)min
No. of head = 8
Noil % = 15
Efficiency = 90% = 0.9

Production = 420 × 6.5 / 25.4 × 36 × 1150 / 7000 × ( 24 × 60) × 8 × 100 – 15 / 100 × 0.9
= 4322.55 lbs / day
= 4322.55 / 2.2046 kg / day [ 1 kg = 2.2046lbs]
= 4322.55/2.2046× 1000 ton / day  [ 1 ton = 1000kg]
= 1.96 tons / day

2. Calculate the production per shift of 8 combers from the following parameters –

Nips / min = 430, Feed / nip = 5.5mm, Lap count = 100 gm / m
No. of head = 8, Noil % = 16%, Efficiency =90%

Here, 

Nips / min = 430
Feed / nip = 5.5 mm = 5.5 / 1000m
Lap count = 100 gm / m = 100 / 1000 kg / m
Time = 1 shift = 8 hrs = (8 × 60 ) min
No. of head = 8
Noil % = 16
Efficiency = 90% = 0.9
No. of comber = 8

Production = 8 [ 430 × 5.5 / 1000 × 100 / 1000 × ( 8 × 60 ) × 8 × 100 – 16 / 100 × 0.9
      = 5492.55 kg / shift
  = ( 5492.55  × 2.2046)lb / shift.
= 12108.88 lb / shift

3. Find out the production per shift from the following parameters –

Nips / min = 450, Feed / nip = 6.3 mm, Lap count = 70 ktex,
Noil % = 18 %, No. of head = 8, Efficiency = 90%

Here, 

Nips / min = 450
Feed / nip = 6.3 mm = 6.3 / 1000m
Lap count = 70 ktex = 70000 tex = 70000 / 1000 gm / m = 70 gm / m = 70 / 1000 kg / m
Time = 8 hrs = ( 8 × 60 ) min
No. of head = 8
Noil % = 18
Efficiency = 90% =0.9

Production = 450 × 6.3 / 1000 × 70 / 1000 × ( 8 × 60 ) × 8 × 100-18 / 100 × 0.9
=562.39 kg / shift.

4. Calculate the production ( tons / day ) of 8 comber machines from the following parameters –

Nips / min = 450, Feed / nip = 0.30, Lap hank = 0.018,
Noil % = 18%, Efficiency = 90%

Here, 

Nips / min = 450
Feed / nip = 0.30 = 0.30/ 36 yds [ lyd = 36 inch]
Lap hank = 0.018 Ne = 1 / 0.018 × 840 lb / yds
Time = 24 hrs = ( 24 × 60 ) min
No. of head = 8
Noil % = 18
Efficiency = 90% =0.9
No. of comber = 8

Production = 8 [ 450 × 0.30 / 36 × 1 / 0.018 × 840 × ( 24 × 60 ) × 8 × 100 -18 / 100 × 0.9
  = 16868.57 lbs / day
= 16868.57 / 2.2046 × 1000 tons / day [lkg = 2.2046 lbs, 1 ton = 1000 kg]
= 7.65 tons / day

5. Find out the production of a comber in kg / shift (Assume all necessary parameters)

By assuming, 

Nips / min = 500
Feed / nip = 5 mm = 0.005 m
No. of head = 8

Feed lap weight = 1150 grains / yd = 1150 / 7000 lb / yd = 1150 / 7000 × 2.2046 kg / yd
 = 1150 / 7000 × 2.2046 × 0.9144 kg / m
Noil % = 25
Efficiency = 90% =0.9
Time = 1 shift = 8 hrs = ( 8 × 60 )min

Production = 500 × 0.005 × 1150 / 7000 × 2.2046 × 0.9144 × ( 8 × 60 ) × 8 × 100 – 25 / 100 × 0.9
